Type de réseau RIP (Réseau d'initiative publique)

Manche Fibre est le réseau d'initiative publique (RIP) du département de la Manche. Il est porté par le syndicat mixte Manche Numérique, créé à l'initiative du Conseil général et des communautés de communes de la Manche.

Manche Numérique a signé une délégation de service public (DSP) de type affermage d'une durée de 20 ans, avec Altitude Infrastructure via sa filiale Manche Fibre, chargée d'exploiter et de commercialiser le réseau public.

Le département est chargé de la construction du réseau. Le projet, qui doit s'achever en 2026 prévoit le raccordement à la fibre de 320 000 locaux.
